![]() If you're a more creative soul, a bullet journal will call your heart. If you like to have everything set up for you to fill in, go with a journal that organizes everything for you. There are two types of planner-lovers in this world - those who need tons of structure and those who like to play around. (Think medical records or revenue goals.) ➥ Style and Extras There are also binder-style family planners, which are best for people who like to add as they go or have a ton of extra stuff they need to have in their planner. Wall calendars are deliciously visual, so if you have older kids, this may be the way to go. They also tend to have way more space for notes and times. Book calendars, for one, don't take up space on a wall or mess with your aesthetic. ➥ Wall Calendar or Book Style?Ī personal choice, certainly, but there are reasons each is great. It's also great if you follow more than one type of calendar, like the families who use the standard Julian calendar and Hebrew calendar together. If you're someone who only needs a planner for a specific season, or if you know that you're likely to only use it intermittently, an undated option is best. It’s a big ask of a little book, but there are great family planners that can handle all of it. Do you want something that breaks every day down by the hour or a more open bullet style?Īdditionally, you might want some extras like space for medical records or meal plans or an area to input all the doctors’, coaches’, and teachers’ contact information. But you also need to decide if you want a planner that's dated or undated, a wall calendar or a book calendar, the size, and then the layout. In my experience, the best family planners have clear sections that are easy to navigate and simple to use. But how do you know which one to choose? What to Consider Kids’ lives are more scheduled than ever, and keeping track of everything is so much less stressful when it’s written down and cataloged. Thankfully, with the help of a great family planner, it's not only absolutely doable - it’s actually pretty easy. Trying to keep your family’s life organized is tricky at the best of times.

Against all odds, it works.īy the time it reaches its happily-ever-after ending – the musical doesn’t pretend for a moment it won’t get there – Bad Cinderella leaves us both more or less satisfied and more or less disappointed (you’ll think of the loose ends before you hit the exit door whatever did happen to that we coulda been friends alliance between the good-bad heroine and her bad-bad stepsister?). Hunter’s choreography seems to combine everything from ballroom dance to Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation moves. Gareth Owen’s sound design crisply captures the thundering vocals – that’s a compliment – of the large singing ensemble, and JoAnn M. Given a well-appointed staging – Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group produces along with No Guarantees Theatrical Productions – Bad Cinderella benefits greatly by its bigness at a time when much of Broadway – A Doll’s House and Parade, for starters – aims for elegant minimalism. You’ll figure out the plot details well before intermission: Cinderella will change her punky ways with a magical makeover – long blonde hair, a slinky, sparkling, girly white gown – before she learns her prince liked her just fine the way she was. Cinderella has only one joy in life – her longtime secret friendship with the highborn Prince Sebastian (Jordan Dobson, living up to the promise he demonstrated last fall with the lovely, show-stealing performance of “Shilo” in A Beautiful Noise). Of course she has reason to be moody, what with those Mean Girls stepsisters (Morgan Higgins and Sami Gayle) and a deliciously villainous stepmother (the always crowd-pleasing Carolee Carmello). Yes, compared to the bright, brilliantly hued finery of the other townfolk, Cinderella looks an outlier, but truth be told there are likely to be badder looking kids in every night’s audience. Cinderella isn’t so much bad as peevish, a vaguely punky teen who’s alternately pouty and crabby, sporting leather-esque tunics and studded purple tights that suggest the local Belleville mall has a Hot Topic. With a musical here-she-comes intro reminiscent of “You’re a Mean One, Mister Grinch,” the eagerly awaited arrival of this rumored hellion is a disappointment. In fact, our first indication of this troublemaker is some graffiti reading “Beauty Sucks!” She must be some terror. Bad Cinderella, we’re told by the singing, dancing ensemble in a big, fun opening number (“beauty is our duty!,” they sing), is a hated, feared and rebellious resident of the otherwise picture-perfect storyland village of Belleville. ![]() Less nuanced in the acting department, Genao is given little help by book writer Fennell in creating an interesting, or even particularly likable, protagonist. Genao is a terrific singer, a real, modern Broadway belter with a voice that has no trouble putting across the Lloyd Webber-Zippel power ballads. Nowhere is this more evident, or more unfortunate, than in the scenes spotlighting its title character. Probably not, but Bad Cinderella, as diverting as it can often be, at other times leaves lots of space for the mind to wander. Is that stepsister’s line a wink at camp classic What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Are Cinderella’s smears of under-eye sparkles a nod to glitter rock king Marc Bolan? Identifying an artwork’s influences and/or rip-offs can be addictive. ![]() What Bad Cinderella does have is an amusing enough premise, an appealing score of songs that please in the moment, a gorgeous set design, performers that give it their all, and just enough rousing, good-natured moments to hold onto hopes that Bad Cinderella will arrive somewhere transformative before Dorothy has to return to Kansas. And though it flirts with the eccentric camp appeal of Sunset Boulevard, there’s not a step-relative who can make us forget Norma Desmond. It doesn’t have the satisfying weirdness of Cats (or any single song that can approach the heights of “Memory”), or the romance of The Phantom of the Opera, or the ear candy score of Jesus Christ Superstar. Just enough, in fact, to place it somewhere in the middle of the Lloyd Webber catalogue. Edward Everett Horton).īad Cinderella has a little of each. When done well, the smashing of tales we loved (or maybe really didn’t) as children can be enlightening (it helps to have Sondheim on your team) or cool (definitely a plus to have Emma Stone playing your villainess) or, like those old Fractured Fairy Tale cartoons, just plain funny (R.I.P. What, you’ve seen this before, maybe when it was called Wicked? Into the Woods? Six? There is no shortage of variations on the idea, and another one’s coming to Broadway complete with Britney Spears songs and a bevy of famous damsels who get wised up by Betty Friedan. ![]() Hey folks, thanks for your feedback! We're currently looking at ways to make the game better so we're always happy to hear what you think! A couple of points to address OP directly -ġ & 2: We actually feel like this would limit your deck, we've tried to give people as many options as possible building into the mechanics they like (healing, taunt, armour etc.) but it might be a good idea for new keywords if they ever come about!ģ. Now you can reply in serious mode, if you will, that is. I have criticsm for this game and I have expressed it in multiple threads Even games in beta almost never have these kind of core changes let alone a fully released one. Not only the cards would have to be revised but also, a "class" system implemented and can you imagine the work behind the AI for this? The alterations in combat he is suggesting are too great for a game NOT IN EARLY ACCESS. ![]() If you have read the system he wrote, which I think it's nice by the way (as I said before), you would understand that it would need several core changes to to the game. I am all in for balancing the game, adding new features, but lets be real. No, you didn't understand what I say or are you trying to be funny. Yes, because balancing your game and changing mechanics that don't make sense is something you should NEVER do. You have some nice ideas there though, for another game. Początkowo opublikowane przez TheOldHat:Yes, the devs will change the game at its core so you can be happy. There is no retaliation - i know some of you will think this is unbalanced, but you can no longer choose targets for your units, you need to tactically position your troops to not be in a way of enemy gunfire, combat tricks like push pull will be more important. You can order units to move to any empty positions but then it looses the ability to attack at the end of the turn Ħ. Unit that can attack will always attack the row directly opposite it at the end of the turn if the row is empty attack enemy leader (close units attack first, then medium etc.) ĥ. You can attack from behind cover if you stand directly behind it, you can attack from behind your own unit if you stand directly behind it, if you have 3 units in a row 2 frontline can attack 3rd can't Ĥ. And so we have 3 types of followers with close medium and far attack ranges (far can attack from any position, medium only from medium and close, and close only from close ) ģ. We have 3 columns (sometimes 2 randomly its good to mix up) close, medium and far range Ģ. I don't want to write an essay but here are some ideas to make combat more tactical and more interesting:ġ. I'am not talking about the AI, I'am talking about combat mechanics - right now combat is all about steamroll - you go first you win pretty much, unless the enemy has comeback card (most of them shouldn't even be in the game like destroying all followers but w/e). Is it too late for a change? I didn't know about this game when it was in early access that's why I'am writing my concerns only now. ![]() We've included a wide range of options from beginner to advanced for you to choose from so there should be a pick for everyone.
